We can’t answer that question because we have no clue as to the sizing measurements these companies use in the manufacture of their knitwear.
But… we can provide insight as to how we work with sizing charts.

So we thought it would be helpful to post the standard measurements for a range of sizes and remind buyers of the necessity and importance of wearing ease in the eventual fit of any garment. All styles in sweaters, vests or cardigans can be ordered with custom specs. Several years ago, we introduced standard sizing for “costuming” purposes and anyone who is not particularly interested in a totally customized fit. At Custom Costume Knits, our sweaters and cardigans have a semi-fitted wearing ease. It means that we add about 2.3 to 3 inches to the actual body measurements. If your bust/chest measures 42 inches, the finished sweater or cardigan will be a finished 45 inches. All this means is that we give the wearer a comfortable amount of added inches so they can layer the knitwear over long sleeve shirts and still have room to move. Technically, you could wear nothing more than an undershirt under a sweater but we have rarely come across anyone who preferred the “second skin” look in these items. Cardigans are nearly always layered over shirts or turtlenecks. As a result, the semi-fitted label for a cardigan translates into more than 3.5 to 4 inches. We wrote a blog post about wearing ease as it applies to cardigans. Here are answers to potential questions which may come up when discussing sizes: Standard sizes are knit to set, standardized measurements which usually cover 2 sizes – a Ladies Medium, for example, will fit someone wearing either a size 8 or 10. However, measurements for a size 8 are different than those for a size 10. At Custom Costume Knits, you have the option to order a specific size and customize it for a perfect fit. What is your bust/chest measurement? As an example, Ladies – let’s say that your bust measurement is 36 to 37.5″…order the Ladies Medium; Men – if your chest measurement is 42″…order the Men’s 42 which is a Large. Don’t worry about the wearing ease…we automatically add the appropriate/correct amount for each size. Be sure to let us know if you are tall or short. We will make the necessary adjustments. Height for regular Juniors: 5’3 1/2″ to 5’7 1/2″; Thank you for taking the time to review garment industry standard size charts. Children’s sizes have been prepared to include “growing room”. Adjustments can be made for height and the “fit” altered as well. Junior Junior sizes form a range of odd-numbered sizes, from size 3 to 15, for garments that fit women and girls with shorter waists, narrower shoulders, and smaller bustlines than those of average build. Petite sizes are generally 2 inches shorter than the corresponding Misses size. Please note that these standard measurements do not necessarily apply to all styles of Hobbie’s “wizard wear”. The Quidditch© style Team Sweater for example has a little more ease than the school uniform sweaters because we drafted it to be more of a tunic. The RENT© sweater is knit to reproduce a specific look and style and does not have the same amount of wearing ease as a regular School Uniform sweater.
